I grew up in the heart of the country and was raised along it's veins. I got my BFA from the University of Kansas, and after college I got the fuck out of dodge. There are beautiful countrysides and glorious skyscapes and all, but I felt a bit landlocked. I decided to move to a place where I knew no one, where there was a substantial body of water close by, and far enough away from my family for no other reason than to gain total independence. So Rhode Island it was. I have grown up and learned so much in this past year than ever before. Being on my own, making a life for myself and embracing adulthood has made me realize that happiness is a direction, not a place. I have been doing a lot of dreaming, and many opportunities have come along my way. All I want from life is to embrace those opportunities, cherish the relationships I have with people, be genuinely happy, and simply do what is best. This blog is about just that, and the way I plan to do it. That plan takes me to the road.
